ExploreBefore transitioning into tech, I worked as an educator. I was introduced to the tech world when I was working as a Web Development Program Manager at an education non-profit. Immediately, I became fascinated by the power of code. I started with self-guided learning, focusing primarily on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery. I fell more in love with code with each line I wrote and, eventually, decided to make the leap into tech for good.
Eventually, I made the decision to deepen my knowledge through an immersive full stack development program specializing in the NERP (Node, Express, React, PostgreSQL) stack. Since then, I have worked in the startup, SaaS, e-commerce, EdTech, and HealthTech spaces. I'm a fullstack engineer, though I tend towards the frontend much of the time. My expertise is in TypeScript, React, and Next.js on the frontend and I have experience with Python, Django, and FastAPI on the backend. I have strong opinions on global state management tools and CSS frameworks and would love to chat about favorites (spoiler alert -- they are Jotai, ReactQuery, and TailwindCSS).
Right now, I'm a Senior Software Engineer at AxiosHQ, a SaaS company in the internal communications space. On the day-to-day, you can find me building out our component library, building Slack, SharePoint, and Teams integrations, developing for email clients, writing a design doc, or obsessing over solving that one bug that makes no sense to anyone.
When I'm not learning new tech, you can find me curating Spotify playlists, watching reruns of Jeopardy, or walking around the neighborhood with my sweet rescue pup, Wuggy.
I'm passionate about using technology for good to make material impact in our society and I am excited about working on collaborative teams with individuals who love what they do. I'm always up for contributing to an open source project -- let's connect!
